Atalanta absolutely dominated Venezia FC in a ferocious opening spell, with Franck Kessié and Nikola Krstović combining to put the hosts 3-0 up before the half-hour mark. Venezia pulled one back through Antoine Hainaut just before half-time, but it proved nothing more than a consolation in a comprehensive 3-1 victory for Atalanta. A red card was issued during the match as Atalanta's attacking prowess proved far too much for their visitors to handle.
